Plastic application

Pearlescent pigments can be used in transparent and translucent plastic resins, and the use of pearlescent pigments can bring an attractive color visual effect. Usually, the resin with better transparency can fully display the unique luster and color effect of pearlescent pigments. For less transparent resins (PC/PVC, etc.), due to the processing characteristics of these resins, the pearlescent luster and hue can also be fully displayed.

Pearlescent pigments are made of natural mica, high temperature resistant and free of toxins. It fully complies with the International Food and Drug Hygiene Regulations (FDA), is harmless to the human body, and does not hurt the skin and eyes. The colors are diversified and the color matching is convenient. It can be used to produce different cosmetics such as lipstick, eye shadow, foundation, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, nail polish, hair cream, moisturizing cream, hair spray and so on.

Coating Application

Pearlescent pigments have good dispersibility and good physical and chemical properties, so they are widely used in the coating industry. No matter what kind of monochromatic paint is mixed with pearlescent pigment, it can become pearlescent paint, and its pearlescent and metallic luster effect is impressive. Pearlescent coatings have been used in automobiles, motorcycles, daily necessities, building materials and many other fields.

Pearlescent pigments are flake-like structures, so wetting is simple and fast, but the polar surface of the system and the chemical properties of the medium or solvent need to be considered. The wafers of pearlescent pigments are easily broken during dispersion. Usually, pearlescent pigments can be dispersed by simply stirring. Mixing is only allowed for a short time if a dispersing machine is used. It is recommended to pre-disperse the slurry and then add it to the paint to mix.

Ink application

Pearlescent pigments not only produce pearlescent effects in printing inks while maintaining the original hue, but also bring a variety of metallic and iridescent effects. Pearlescent pigments have been widely used in the printing industry, and are often used in the printing of various wrapping papers, magazines, advertising paintings, textiles and other items.

Pearlescent pigments have excellent dispersibility and can generally be mixed into low-viscosity printing inks with only slight agitation. Since the pearlescent pigment is a layered structure, it can only be slightly stirred when mixing with the ink, and strong mechanical treatment is avoided to avoid damage to the surface of the pearlescent powder.
